100 YEARS OF ORGANIZATION

Filofax, Established 1921

MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN

Norman and Hill Ltd. was founded in London on June 6, 1921 by British Army Colonel Disney, William Rounce and Posseen Hill. Years later, our company changed its name to Filofax.

1930, File of Facts

The first personal organizer was created: a high-quality leather binder with ring mechanism and flexible loose-paper inserts - a “File of Facts” that would eventually give our company its name.

Filofax 1941, KEEPING INFO SAFE

During World War II, our offices were destroyed. Key information about customers and suppliers was stored in the organizer that secretary Grace Scurr took home every night, enabling Filofax to keep operating.
